Attorney at LawLaura Bottaro
Laura’s father, who is also a lawyer, first inspired her to go into the legal field through his hard work and humble service to his clients. Laura sees her role as a lawyer and arbitrator as one of multifaceted responsibility requiring preparation and perseverance. In addition to her current practice in nursing home and personal injury litigation, Laura has litigated complex business, fraud, breach of contract, construction, and water law cases.
An honors graduate of Northwestern University, Laura went on to earn her Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado Law School. She joined Bottaro Law in 2013, after serving as a partner in a Providence litigation firm. Laura has successfully tried complex cases from discovery through jury verdict. She has represented plaintiffs and defendants, as well as corporations and individuals. She has been recognized in her field with the highest AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings.
As a lawyer, Laura listens to her clients’ stories and enjoys helping them seek justice. One of her proudest accomplishments was winning a groundbreaking ruling for the rights of nursing home patients. Her client, an elderly woman who had broken her hip, was forced by her nursing home to sign a document that gave up her constitutional right to a jury trial. Because of this favorable ruling, nursing homes in Rhode Island must now ensure procedural fairness when presenting arbitration agreements to their patients.
As an arbitrator, Laura serves parties who bring their cases before the American Arbitration Association and the Rhode Island Superior Court. Laura leans on her eighteen years of litigation experience to provide a fair and efficient arbitration process. She has served as an arbitrator since 2009.
When she’s not working, Laura can be found spending time with her husband and their two young children. She trains for and runs Spartan obstacle course races.
