$123,000.00 Recovered In Rhode Island Car Accident Settlement
Driver May Have Been Distracted On Her Phone
When the insurance company of a clearly at fault driver would not offer a fair settlement, Attorney Mike Bottaro went to court. The resulting settlement was over two and a half (2.5) times the amount the insurance company had offered earlier in the case.
Our client was a front seat passenger in a vehicle driven by her friend. The friend was unfamiliar with the road and ran a stop sign while looking at her cell phone in her hand. When the driver ran the stop sign, there was a large minivan driving straight that T-boned our client’s vehicle right where our client was seated and with such force as to spin it off the road and into the woods.
In the car accident, our client lost consciousness after striking her head on the car’s interior. The personal injuries were significant, including post concussive syndrome, injuries to the head, neck, back, and hip. Our client was also left with a scar from the auto accident.
Auto accident attorney Mike Bottaro filed suit and took the lead in discovery, issuing subpoenas and attending depositions. As the case neared trial, the insurer agreed on a settlement that totaled $123,000.00.
