Rhode Island is one of 7 states that saw more than a 15% increase in roadway deaths in 2020.\u00a0Rhode Island is on par with numbers nationwide. The National Safety Council\u2019s report stated an estimated 42,060 people died in car accidents last year.<\/p>\n<p>This is an 8% increase from 2019. Roadway experts had hoped that a global pandemic would lead to a decrease in this number.
