traumatic brain injury (TBI)<\/a>\u00a0when she was struck by a car while walking across the road in a pedestrian crosswalk.<\/p>\nIn 2013, the defendant was stopped at a crossroad in a large SUV when she turned left and struck our client, a pedestrian walking in a crosswalk. The impact catapulted our client into the air and caused her skull to strike the roadway with great force.<\/p>\n
Bleeding with a severe head injury and loss of consciousness, an ambulance transported our client to the hospital with multiple life threatening injuries including an open skull fracture that resulted in a TBI, a collapsed lung, and an elbow fracture. In critical condition, an emergency helicopter next airlifted our client to a trauma hospital where doctors rushed to save her life with multiple surgical procedures.
