Owner and PresidentMike Bottaro
Mike Bottaro is the founding member of Bottaro Law and a board member of the Rhode Island Association for Justice. Mike is admitted to practice law in Rhode Island and Massachusetts state and federal courts.
Mike’s law practice is solely devoted to helping injured people in the areas of personal injury law. He personally prepares all of his clients’ cases and has successfully tried cases to jury verdict in state and federal court, as well as successfully arbitrated, mediated, and settled hundreds of personal injury cases—recovering millions of dollars for injured clients and their families. Mike has earned top-rated lawyer recognition from independent lawyer rating services, including the prestigious Martindale-Hubbell AV Rating and a perfect “10.0” score from Avvo.com where he has dozens of five-star reviews.
Since 2008, the independent ratings service Super Lawyers has recognized Mike multiple times as a “Rising Star” as published in Rhode Island Monthly Magazine both for plaintiff’s personal injury and medical malpractice. He has also been recognized by The National Trial Lawyers as a “Top 40 Under 40″ lawyer and as a “Top 100” lawyer, nationwide designations given to top trial lawyers. Each year, Mike attends several legal seminars to stay current on the latest personal injury and dangerous products case law.
In 1997, Mike graduated cum laude from Boston College. After obtaining his Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado School of Law, Mike served as a judicial law clerk on the Colorado Court of Appeals. Before starting Bottaro Law, Mike interned and worked at other prominent trial law firms, gaining experience representing both injured parties and insurance companies.
Bottaro Law is a values-based law firm. Mike believes in regular service projects for his team and supporting charities through his “Bottaro Gives Back” program. Each month, the firm supports charities selected by employees, clients, and others.
In addition to his legal experience, Mike has also suffered his own injuries. In 2012, Mike underwent bilateral shoulder surgeries, which required extensive physical therapy and rehabilitation. These life experiences help him humanize his injured clients before insurance companies and fact-finders.
Mike has written on safety and consumer issues, and he has appeared as a legal correspondent on The Rhode Show, a Rhode Island news program. He is married and has two children. Mike’s interests include spending time with his family, reading, and outdoor activities.
