3 Super Bowl 2019 Commercials That Highlight The Dangers of Car Accidents And Personal Injury

Did you watch the 2019 Super Bowl commercials?  As a Rhode Island and Massachusetts car accident personal injury lawyer, I was struck by 3 commercials:

“Miracle Violinist” Manami Ito Awes Audience in “The World’s Best” Commercial

After the Super Bowl, CBS aired a new series called “The World’s Best,” a competition that showcases all sorts of talent from across the globe.

In their Super Bowl commercial, “The World’s Best” showed a clip of violinist Manami Ito, a woman who lost her right arm in a car crash at the age of 20. Not letting a car accident personal injury stop her, she persevered and continued to play the violin with her prosthetic arm. Manami also took up swimming after the auto accident, competing in the 2008 Beijing Paralympics and 2012 London Olympics.

Ito’s story shows how a careless driver can change someone’s life forever – but with her passion and determination, anything can be possible.

Verizon First Responder Themed Advertisement

Verizon also aired a commercial during the Super Bowl that honors the importance of first responders. The ad included interviews from NFL athletes explaining how first responders helped them during emergencies.  The commercial ends with a message from Verizon – “First responders answer the call. Our job is to make sure they can get it.”

Verizon will also be pairing up with the Gary Sinise Foundation, an organization that gives to first responders and their families. $1 will be donated for any mention of the campaign on social media.

We find the work that first responders do every day extremely important, without a first responder rushing to the scene of an accident, our clients would not be helped and receive the treatment they need right away.

Rhode Island Department of Transportation: Ripple Effect Campaign

I saved the most important advertisement for last – the RIDOT has created a 10-year series called “The Ripple Effect” to educate viewers on the consequences of drunk driving car accidents.

The commercial introduces a real family who lost their son due to a drunk driver. This commercial shows raw emotion, no paid actors or fake stories involved. As chilling as it is, it brings awareness to the hardships that families have to deal with when losing a loved one to a drunk driver.

The Bottaro Law Firm, LLC has personally handled many drunk driving accidents, and we are happy to see the RIDOT creating a campaign that will educate people and hopefully stop this epidemic.
