Rear-End Car Accident Leads to Neck Injuries
One seemingly normal Rhode Island day, our client was driving to work. Then, out of nowhere, another driver failed to stop in time to avoid hitting the back of our client’s car!
While some rear-end car accidents work out to be relatively minor, this was not the case for our client. After the impact, our client immediately felt a sharp pain in the right side of her neck. Not only that, but days after the accident, she reported even worse neck pain, tinnitus, nausea, eye pain and burning, left knee pain, and lower back pain. She was ultimately sent for several spinal and neck MRIs, and referred to an ophthalmologist, ENT, and neurologist/neurosurgeon.

Once she was finally able to undergo the ACDF, she woke up to discover her left vocal cord was paralyzed. She was left unable to speak! She also required thickening agents in her liquids to prevent her from choking.
In addition to the stress and pain our client endured, she will now likely have a permanent scar on her neck from the ACDF surgery.
