Last month our legal assistant Ashleigh recognized National Kidney Month by selecting the National Kidney Foundation as her Teammate Charity of the Month.
At Bottaro Law, each month, one of us takes a turn at choosing a charity that is meaningful to them. We place a giving box at our firm and we all have the opportunity to experience the gift of generosity.
Folks generally toss a few bucks in when they dress down, but anyone can contribute as they deem fit and at the end of the month, the law firm matches (often rounding up).
What Is The National Kidney Foundation?
The National Kidney Foundation is the largest organization to the awareness, prevention, and treatment for kidney disease in the United States. Did you know that 1 in 7 people are estimated to have chronic kidney disease? The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated 9 in 10 adults with CKD do not know they have CKD.
What Is Chronic Kidney Disease?
Chronic Kidney Disease or (CKD) is when your kidneys become damaged and over time, they may lose blood as well as all around kidney health. Without properly functioning kidneys, toxic waste and extra fluids can accumulate in the body and lead to high blood pressure, heart disease or stroke.
Why It’s Important To Our Team
We take pride in giving back to different charities, especially organizations like here, where we have had clients with kidney injuries. We have had clients come in after suffering from a car accident or suffering from personal injuries that may have caused other underlying diseases to emerge or erupt.
